In conjunction with Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V. (DLR) and Ciemat, Solchem GmbH will participate to the NEMITEC project. NEMITEC stands for NEw MIrror TEChnologies and is a three-year project destined to develop a new generation of flat outdoor solar reflector offering as main characteristics:

• Improved Solar Reflectivity using the DUALSOL® silvering technology.
• Improved mirror edge corrosion resistance.
• Elimination of lead in the protective layer.
• Reduction of VOC in the protective layer.

A team of scientists has been assembled to combine their expertise in CSP and plating chemistry and meet the upcoming new challenge.

As part of the realized investments, a new pilot mirror line in Wallenfels will be used to support the production of multiple samples in controlled conditions. The large pool of knowledge and testing resources brought by DLR and CIEMAT will be of great support to lead this challenging project to success and contribute to a cleaner environment.
